Dear Friends,

I am happy to announce the 2008 schedule for  my encaustic classes. I began teaching  encaustic printmaking classes for local Santa Fe artists in 1996. These have grown to several days of  intensive encaustic instruction, with fun and Paula Roland, Insurrect, encaustic and graphite on paper.camaraderie, attended by artists from nearly every state and abroadGhost Ranch.

This year I will teach in Santa Fe and in Cortona, Italy. (Yes, in Tuscany!) And in 2009 I will teach both in Santa Fe, and at Ghost Ranch.  If you like we can hold a spot for you in either 2009 workshop.

Once again, I am offering discounts for those who take the Comprehensive (both the Monotype and Beyond and Painting/Collage Workshops), with an additional discount for artists who have taken a workshop with me and are returning for the Comprehensive. The Monotype and Painting/Collage workshops are back-to back, with a day free in between for working in the studio or sightseeing. Artists taking the Comprehensive tell me they are happy they did because they learned so much, and felt more relaxed and productive.

This website has lots of information, so please read it thoroughly.  Prices and registration forms are below. For info about  workshop content, room accommodations, and more, go to ABOUT 2008 WORKSHOPS . For more information about the Encaustic Monotype process (my specialty—no one else teaches many of these techniques) go to PRINTMAKING PROCESS . To hear what past workshop participants have to say, go to COMMENTS .

Once again our able Registrar is Ruth Gooch. She will handle your pre-workshop questions and registration. Ruth, an accomplished artist working in encaustic, is also my assistant at the Santa Fe and Ghost Ranch workshops. Ruth fields questions through email at EncausticSantaFe@yahoo.com (FYI Ruth lives in Southern California, and I am in Santa Fe!)

I am announcing 2009 dates early, so mark your calendar!  The Monotype and Painting/Collage Workshops will be similar in focus, length, and price to this year's Santa Fe workshops. And there is a new and exciting Advanced Seminar and Retreat at Ghost Ranch. Details are still being worked out, but to hold your space temporarily, without deposit, until October ’08, when official registration begins, write Ruth at EncausticSantaFe@yahoo.com. Read About the Advanced Seminar & Retreat

Ruth and I look forwarding to meeting you in person and having a fun, productive workshop--one that you will always remember as a valuable personal and artistic experience.

Warmest regards,

Paula
