My art-process is alchemical -- part spirit, science, and magic. With the strange attractors, I work with dry pigments and concoctions of acrylic mediums or PVA, a glue binder, with each pigment requiring a different balance. The paint is highly pigmented, producing a variety surfaces: velvety matt, metallic or iridescent. The paint is very fluid and I paint with my hands and a few tools, moving quickly like an Improvisational dancer before the paint sets.
This media has a voice and a will of its own and the process requires that we “dialog”. I work with what happens during the process, altering plans, discovering new ideas, digging deeper, and going with what is given. The process allows access to the unconscious, and never fails to connect with my deepest emotions and interests.
