Exploring Nature’s Beauty and Uncertainty with Abstraction
The most profound influence on my work is my childhood on the Gulf Coast. There, the verdant land, hurricanes, disappearing coastline, majestic oaks, and the calm but potentially destructive water and wind formed my worldview. This experience continues to inform my abstract explorations of nature's dual character—its beauty and its power to both nurture and destroy. This foundation has expanded my reverence to encompass other places, including the desert's stark beauty, and fostered my fascination with science that reveals both microscopic and cosmic landscapes.
